Surprisingly, Fox wasn't stingy on marketing. Titan A.E. had the market covered with everything from DVDs and CDs to chocolate bars and t-shirts. Six years later, it's hard to come across any of it. Being the merchandise whore that I am, this is a list I've compiled of all known merchandise and how to get them now. If you have something that isn't here, please e-mail me at padfoot (at) tigrin.net! A lot has been lost over the years unfortunately, and I need all the help I can get to recover it. I'm still surprised what I see pop up on eBay sometimes. If you have information I don't have, or better scans or pictures, I'd love to have that too. I don't own everything on this page, so I can't give a firsthand review on everything.

DVD - Titan A.E. (Special Edition)
Buy at Amazon.com
Format: Anamorphic, Closed-captioned, Color, Dolby, DTS Surround Sound, Special Edition, Widescreen, NTSC
Region: 1
Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1
Release Date: November 7, 2000
Features: English and Spanish subtitles, English and French language tracks, Fox Kids' Special "The Quest for the Titan", four deleted scenes, "Over My Head" music video, theatrical trailers and tv spots, concept art gallery, director commentary, DVD-ROM
Notes: Ahaha, I remember buying this before I ever had a DVD player. Good times. Rather inaccurately titled, as there never has been any other DVD edition (that I know of) besides this one. Rather nice DVD at that... has pretty nice 3D menus that are easy to navigate. The kids' documentary is actually kind of interesting,
if you have any particular interest in animation, and the concept gallery is definitely a visual treat... most of it is from pre-production when the film was still known as "Planet Ice". Oh wow, I forgot, this DVD has a track of commentary from Don Bluth and Gary Goldman... which is actually mildly depressing, even they didn't seem
to think too highly of the film. Ah well. The deleted scenes are great, most of them are finished or with rough animation, and got length on them... you'll recognize some of the scenes either from the novelization or the trailers.
Availability: You can find this DVD at Target for about $6. It's your standard bargain bin DVD now, sadly.
VHS - Titan A.E. (Special Edition)
Buy at Amazon.com
Format: Closed-captioned, Color, NTSC
Region: NTSC (US and Canada)
Aspect Ratio: Fullscreen
Release Date: November 7, 2000
Features: ?
Notes: The old school version. Your typical VHS picture and sound quality. I could swear there was some kind of special feature at the end of this VHS, but for the life of me I can't remember anymore.
Availability: VHS isn't that common anymore, but I'm sure it's out there. Considering the price Amazon is offering it, and the availability of DVD players nowadays, you're better off forking over the $6 for the DVD.
Titan A.E.: Music from the Motion Picture
Buy at Amazon.com
Format: CD or Cassette
Release Date: June 6, 2000
Features: ?
Notes: The official soundtrack. All songs were written for and appeared in the movie. An eclectic mix, with everything from metal (Powerman 5000) to reggae (Wailing Souls). Takes some getting used to, but generally worth it. Ironically, the demise of the movie seemed to be the demise of a lot of these artists.
Availability: You can probably find it at a large electronics store that carries a lot of CDs, like Best Buy. If not, your best bet is probably eBay (I know iTunes doesn't carry it).
Titan A.E.: Original Score
Format: CD
Release Date: ?
Composer: Graeme Revell
Notes: This is, for the most part, the entire score of the movie - that is, all the non-lyrical music. Apparently this was an extremely small collector's pressing.
Availability: Rare; you're not gonna find it in a store. Pops up on eBay once in a while. I'm hosting the entire album here for free to download because of this, over at the music section.
Titan A.E. Songbook
Format: Paperback
Release Date: October 1, 2000
Publisher: Alfred Publishing
ISBN: 0711975523
Notes: This is the sheet music for the entire soundtrack. Written for the guitar (there isn't a bass line for piano). Includes the vocals, so you get all the lyrics as well (the reason I got this, since I can't play guitar). I can't vouch for how it sounds on the guitar, but it's nicely put together and even includes some pages of full-color stills
from the film. Nice.
Availability: Buy from Amazon.com. I can send people certain tabs on request.
Titan A.E.: The Adult Novelization
Format: Mass Market Paperback, 225 pages
Author(s): Steve and Dal Perry
Release Date: May 1, 2000
Publisher: Ace Books
ISBN: 0441007368
Notes: That there is any other kind of novelization other than a kid's one is unusual for an animated movie. This novelization is written for adults, and it shows in both the tone and the format of the writing. The book is based on one of the working scripts of the film; thus, there are plenty of scenes
in here that never made it into the film. You get a lot more scenes with the Drej, and a lot more information about them, as well as the other characters and aspects of the universe. Definitely a treat. Since the characters are not based on actors, there are some differences between the film characters and the novel characters;
Stith, for instance, comes across a lot more alien with slurred words and a detachment from the human characters. Still a very enjoyable read and what I think the film should have been, in terms of tone.
Availability: Out of print. There are always copies floating around Amazon and eBay, however.
Titan A.E.: The Junior Novelization
Format: Paperback, 121 pages
Author(s): Catherine Daly
Release Date: June 1, 2000
Publisher: Price Stern Sloan
ISBN: 0843175842
Notes: I remember picking this up in the bookstore and putting it back down, so I haven't read it. It is written on a preadolescent reading level and probably follows the film more closely than the adult novelization. Like most junior novelizations, it includes a few pages of color photos from the movie.
Availability: Out of print. Again, not too hard to find through Amazon or eBay.
Titan A.E. Storybook
Format: Paperback
Author(s): Jennifer Frantz
Release Date: September 1, 2000
Publisher: Sagebrush
ISBN: 0613272684
Notes: Fox really had the market covered. This is a novelization written strictly for the 4-8 age group - thus, simple language, big pictures.
Availability: Apparently you can special order this from Amazon.com. Used copies are also available.
Cale's Story
Format: Paperback, 181 pages
Author(s): Kevin J. Anderson, Rebecca Moesta
Release Date: May 1, 2000
Publisher: Ace Books
ISBN: 0441007376
Plot Summary: The book chronicles Cale's adventures as a 15-year-old, living with Tek. When the Drej are spotted one night, Tek, Cale, and Tek's adopted daughter Iji set off to find a place for Cale, and the research Tek needs to revive his home planet. Meanwhile, Tek attempts to educate Cale on the importance of solidarity.
Notes: This is one in a set of two movie tie-in prequel novels - techically an "interquel", as it takes place during the 15 year jump. Anderson and Moesta were already rather well-known for writing younger characters prior to these two novels - they wrote a series of young Jedi Knights books. So, of course, they're
very experienced with this genre, and they execute their skills well. Cale's Story is my favorite of the two, a fun little action/adventure that gives you a peak into Cale's life growing up, and a lot of what would shape his personality as a 20-year-old. Definitely of interest if you're curious about the character or the
universe of Titan A.E. I got Anderson and Moesta to sign my copy of this book at the 2004 Comic Con. I think they about died of shock seeing it again, and I about died of nerves.
Availability: Available by special order from Amazon.com. Used copies are also available.
Akima's Story
Format: Paperback, 240 pages
Author(s): Kevin J. Anderson, Rebecca Moesta
Release Date: May 1, 2000
Publisher: Ace Books
ISBN: 0441007384
Plot Summary: The book follows the hardships of Akima as a 14-year-old, growing up on a Drifter colony. The book opens with the death of Akima's grandmother. She goes to live and learn under a man in the colony, Mohammed, and his son Ishaq. When the colony is attacked by the Drej, Akima tries and fails to help them escape using an old ship, and Mohammed dies.
Spurned by her failure, she sets off with Ishaq to enroll in an academy.
Notes: This is the second book in the series. Akima's Story is about sixty pages longer than Cale's, and for good reason - Akima goes through a lot more. It's actually pretty depressing. Like Cale's Story, it reaches into the character and the universe and is chock full of environmental detail. If you read both books, there is a point where Cale and Akima
unwittingly cross paths - an advantage of the same authors having written both books. Dramatic irony is always fun.
Availability: Out of print. Try sellers on Amazon or eBay.
Titan A.E.: The Real Science Behind the Science Fiction
Format: Paperback, 64 pages
Author(s): Q.L. Pearce
Release Date: June 1, 2000
Publisher: Price Stern Sloan
ISBN: 0843175877
Notes: Written for a 9-12 reading level, this book is just a fun little scientific filler course. It relates facts about astronomy, space travel, and genetic engineering to explain the concepts in the film. Probably worth it if you're interested in the science of the film.
Availability: Out of print. Try sellers on Amazon or eBay.
Titan A.E.: How to Draw
Format: Paperback, 48 pages
Author(s): William Conor
Release Date: June 19, 2000
Publisher: Price Stern Sloan
ISBN: 084175869
Notes: If you're familiar at all with "how to draw" books, then you know they're more "how to trace" than any kind of comprehensive course in drawing. Apparently this book is especially bland, as it features only one pose of every character, and uses the graph method. A collector's item, but not much else.
Availability: Available by special order from Amazon.com. Used copies also available.
Titan A.E. 2001 Calendar
Format: Paperback
Release Date: 2000
Publisher: ?
ISBN: ?
Notes: This was the 2001 calendar. It was actually pretty nice, I still have it somewhere. Nice big pictures for every month, and it had various logos and such in it as decoration that are interesting. Apparently there was also a locker size.
Availability: I doubt you'll be able to find this easily, since it's a calendar and made to be used for a year and tossed. If you're determined though, anything's possible.

Titan A.E. Trading Cards
Publisher: Inkworks
Notes: This is a series of trading cards that was put out by Inkworks. There are 90 cards in the set. Some of the cards are profile cards, and there is one etched foil card. Most of them are scenes from the movie. They're a nice collector's item for the information on the backs of them.
Availability: Out of print, but you'll pretty much always see some on eBay.
Titan A.E. Trading Card Binder
Publisher: Inkworks
Notes: This is the collector's binder for the Inkworks trading cards. For some reason this is always going for about three times as much as the entire card set on eBay. I don't know why.

Polar Lights Drej Model
Publisher: Polar Lights
Notes: This is a model kit of a Drej drone. The end result looks pretty similar to the Dark Horse statue. Considered a level two difficulty to construct.
Availability: Available occassionally on eBay and online stores.
Titan A.E. - Inferno Battle Drej
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Notes: with PULSATING BATTLE LIGHT! god I love action figures, the titles for these things are hilarious. Pretty much all the action figures produced for Titan A.E. are electronic and have sound or light features. This one apparently has a pulsating light somewhere.
Availability: As far as I know, eBay's your only option.
Titan A.E. - Drej Blastin' Stith

Availability: As far as I know, eBay's your only option.
Titan A.E. - Rapid Attack Queen Drej
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Notes: with BATTLE ACTION SOUNDS! I'm not quite sure what it does, but it's DELUXE. Kind of looks like something out of Kingdom Hearts. I think the Deluxe series figures are a little bit larger/more action-packed.
Availability: As far as I know, eBay's your only option.

Titan A.E. - X200 Hover Vehicle and Korso
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Notes: with BATTLE ACTION SOUNDS! I think the X200 is the hovercraft from the Sesharrim scene. Includes a pistol.
Availability: As far as I know, eBay's your only option.
Titan A.E. - Power-Crush Exo Suit and Cale
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Notes: with BATTLE ACTION SOUNDS! Deluxe. Whatever this thing is, he looks really happy to be in it. I think.

Availability: As far as I know, eBay's your only option.

Titan A.E. - Valkyrie Ship with Cale
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Notes: A toy model of the Valkyrie with a Cale figure. Features electronic lights and sounds. Ooo.
Availability: eBay or online toy stores.

Titan A.E. - The Game
Format: Playstation, PC
Notes: The official Titan AE videogame was mentioned in the credits of the film as well as advertised in the comics, but production was cancelled after the failure of the film at the box office. In the game, the player could choose to play as either Cale or Akima.
Players explored the universe along the storyline of the film. It had a very action/adventure set-up; players had to problem-solve to get from one area to another and to move forward in the storyline. The game also featured Starfox-esque flight sequences. Could have been a nice concept.
Unfortunately, the gameplay of the Playstation version was not up to par; for instance, the only movement option for Cale was running. This made really delicate operations - such as inching up to the edge of a box and jumping - nearly impossible. It's probably better off canceled. Less of a headache.
Availability: Demos of the Playstation version are available, and will pop up in lots on eBay.
IGN Screenshots:

True Confections Chocolate Bars
Notes: A series of Titan AE chocolate bars. There were four different kinds - dark chocolate with raspberry filling (Drej wrapper), milk chocolate with peanut butter (Akima wrapper), milk chocolate with caramel (Korso wrapper), and milk chocolate with mint cream (Cale wrapper). The wrappers had offers inside and some kind of instant win game.
I don't think you won a trip to see Willy Wonka, though.
Availability: If you see this anywhere, I don't recommend buying them. Chocolate tends to go bad after six years.
Earth Defense Tattoo
Notes: A temporary tattoo of the Earth defense logo. About the size of a sharpie.
Availability: I found this on eBay way back when, so I'd try there.
Symbol Tattoos
Notes: A sheet of temporary tattoos. Features the world, life, courage, spirit, leader, and humanity symbols. This is a rather poor image edit I did for myself for reference, the text didn't look like that.

Titan A.E. Posters
Notes: Typical for any movie, Fox issued a number of posters worldwide to the promote the film. Some of them are more decorative, others more promotional.
Availability: There's always at least one on eBay. The availabilty of each varies depending on what people are selling.
