Hey everyone, it's time for the annual post! haha.

I've just changed webhosts. I've gone through and recoded the whole site... there's not much difference, except I'm using CSS to make the site easier to maintain.

Otherwise, I have no ideas for updates to the site. The fandom is pretty dead. If anyone has any suggestions, just let me know.

Hey everyone, it's been a while.

Inspired by efforts over at the After Earth LiveJournal community, I am attempting to do as much fan-related as I can to help Titan AE. :) As a first effort, I've taken extensive screenshots of the missing sections of the gallery page. I've added between 60 and 70 new images of scenes 13-16.

As always, if you have any requests for screenshots, let me know and I will get it on it. And if there are any suggestions or requests regarding the site content, just let me know and I will be happy to look into it.

oh woah. I'm really confused right now. I haven't used Blogger in years. Why I'm still using it for posting updates is rather beyond me, but whatever.

Anyways. Welcome to the new Cosmic Castaway! This is the most extensive update I've done since the site opened six years ago, and I hope all the work was worth it.

Here's what's new:
- Bios section pretty much completed with information on the main characters and some of the film's creators
- Extensive merchandise section
- Site section
- Music section, with lyrics, previews, and downloads. I now have complete lyrics for the entire soundtrack.
- Downloads section - full score, sound bytes, trailer A, and wallpapers
- Updated links section
- Completely revamped navigation not dependent on frames

This is kind of just some of what I've done... it's by no means everything I wanted to do, but this has been a personal project for weeks, and I'm ready to put up what I have online. I appreciate any feedback. Once I get my DVD drive back (-_- don't ask), I'll be taking a host of new screenshots for the gallery as well. I'm a college freshman now and busy, busy, busy.

Here's to six years online and many more.

I'm afraid I don't have anything to update with... I've had a lot else on my mind and in the meantime, my DVD drive for my computer's broken. rats. I've been meaning to at least draw a picture to commemorate the occasion but... well, we'll see. anyway. four years. man.

The 4th anniversary of Titan A.E. is coming up in a few months.... geezus. It's been a long time. Amazing how time flies?

I have some stuff I could probably update to the site sometime for the anniversary, if anyone is interested... I was thinking of taking more screenshots (provided my DVD player works, it hasn't been working)... I've also thought about adding some more to the music section. I own the albums of several of the artists who did music for the movie, if anyone is interested in knowing more about them (I know most of my music interests started with Titan AE). I recently got a hold of Splashdown's shelved album, "Blueshift", which is just spiffy. If anyone's interested I can provide more information about Splashdown and some of the other artists, and would more than welcome any information anyone else has. It's also been four years and I've still yet to find or figure out all the lyrics to "Everything Under the Stars".... hah! Oh yeah, I forgot, I also got a hold of the Titan AE comic books last year... I have some scans of that and such, too.

If you're reading this (and the chances of someone reading this are slim? Dunno.) and are interested in more updates to the site, drop me a line... padfoot(at)tigrin.net. Replace (at) with the @ symbol, of course. Of course, always welcome contributes to the site, too... I wanted the site to be rather interactive so it's not just me dictacting the content. :) Well, knowing me I might end up updating eventually with or without encouragement, but still... I don't check stats any longer so I'm unsure of what's up and who cares.

I've had several people in the past ask me about taking screenshots from DVDs and I'm sorry if I never got around to replying... this is how I've been doing it. First, you have to have a DVD drive for your computer... I'll leave that up to you. Next, you need to turn off hardware acceleration... this is what makes it so that when you hit "Print Screen", it gives you a black box. In Windows, you can go to the desktop or the Control Panel and go to Display >> Properties >> Settings >> Advanced... >> Performance. Set "Hardware Acceleration" to none. There is probably a different way around to this on different opperating systems... I'm working on Windows ME, I know XP is really bizarre in some ways they tweaked things. Depending on what media program you're using to play a video file or the DVD, you might also need to scope around the program settings and turn off anything they have like "hardware acceleration". I haven't tested it but when you're done and have restarted and all you probably should be able to just hit "Print Screen" and paste the screenshot into any graphics program... I use WinDVD, which comes with an option to just hit "P" and get a screenshot, very convenient... I recommend getting a DVD program with screenshot capability, saves hassle. ;) Hope that helps...

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Titan A.E.!

Yeah, I've been horribly neglecting the site... been busy. =) But to celebrate the anniversary I decided to do a revamp of the site. Nothing too drastic. I did some major editing to the lyrics page correcting lyrics and such. Changed all the link colors, because they haven't changed in three years and look horrible. Added an assortment of old banners and buttons to the links page. Added four chapters to "Amount to Nothing" on the fanfics page. Completely redid the info page; you can now find all sorts of information about the film, the cast, and the crew on there, from the aspect ratio to the costume design. Also added about 30 new screencaptures to the gallery page.. just random ones that I had taken for Treasure Planet comparisons, including some Wake Angels pictures and other scenes towards the end. And I think that's about it... I did minor revisions to any page I thought needed it as I went along. =)

And yeah, if you're reading this, lemme know if you still care and I'll tweak or add more to the site... *shrug*

Oh yeah... before I forget even longer...



^^; I won that June 17th. Sorry I haven't put it up.. sidetracked... thanks so much, Animated Lust! And you're welcome to anything on the site, of course. And by that I mean Animated Lust! may use it, not anyone else... I do not like content theives at all. Especially if said thieves steal anything original to my site... like my graphics or screenshots... *coughs*

Many appologies for not updating pretty much the whole summer... I have an inherited tendency to get all whiled up about something and set such-and-such goals and then, eventually, get involved with other things and neglect them completely. I haven't really gotten much support or anything for either updates or my current Titan AE fanfiction, so I get rather discouraged... I keep forgetting what it's like to run a fansite. I think most people come here looking for lyrics to "Cosmic Castaway", anyway... that seems to be what comes up most often in my site statistics under keywords. Lyrics I do have, yes.

With school coming up, I'm going to have to start limiting my time on the Internet drastically... whether or not I get around to updates or not is up to me and how I feel about it. I've just been caught up with a lot of other stuff involving my art and such that I've started to neglect my sites a bit... *sigh* Oh well. I'm not closing or giving up on the site, nope. Just letting you know the reason for the lack of updates and such...

Just a little update.. spent ridiculously long time translating the quiz to my site. So now you can find it through the downloads section, which is now titled "goodies". Also updated the nav bar... a little easier to find now. =)

Eh, nothing big on the updates.. added the lyrics to "Everybody's Going to the Moon" to the lyrics archive. I was looking for the lyrics to "Everything Under the Stars/The Streets Are Watching" when I found them, actually. How odd. o_O; I also added the comments thing to this news page, so you can leave feedback if you want.

Thinking I should change "downloads" to "goodies" so I can put my Quiz in there. ... yeah, I know, I know, I'll try to make my own quiz on the site somehow, but until then.. x_x

It was my last day of school today and summer has officially started. Which means I'll get to updating more. ^_^

Oh yeah, we've (or is it I've, since it's just me working on the site? o_o) been nominated to win an award at Animated Lust (rated PG)!. Be sure to vote for us (me?) if you can.. I love that site, I've been going to it forever. o.O; Really great content when it comes to animation and such. I believe they are going to use some of my screencaps, too.

Apparently Titan A.E. is playing at the Regal theaters in California this summer as part of a kid's summer program.. I didn't catch the date last time I was there. Going to beg to go the theater so I can find out.. I don't care if it's a bunch of 5-year-olds and me going to see it, I would kill to see it on the screen one more time. I know they had this program last year and I missed it.

Titan A.E.'s second anniversary is on Saturday, by the way. I remember celebrating the first anniversary last year... this site is over a year old, wow. o.o; Can't remember the exact date it opened, though, I'll have to find out.

I need to update the info section, too... I wrote that in what, November 2000? Something like that.

Yes, I know, I didn't update Memorial weekend, don't hurt me. I was extremely busy and didn't get around to ANYTHING.

Just a little update today. Two new artists in the fanart section, Akaiyila and... myself. Also added three chapters to "Amount to Nothing" in the fanfics section that I never got around to adding... I'm currently stuck on chapter 6, not sure when I'll finally get that one out. Also updated links section.. just fixing my contact info, it was out of date.

School's out, technically. Still have finals next week (yech). But here's a basic list of what I plan for CC over the summer:
- Finish and completely update bios section... for the first time since the site opened. Woot!
- Scrounge up the remaining lyrics SOMEHOW, even if I have to type them up myself with little holes here and there
- Tons of new screenshots... hoping for at least 5 a scene
- Perhaps fix the fanart section so people can add comments to the pictures and it's easier to browse
- Fix the damn guestbook. Geezus.
- Make some more wallpapers and goodies for the downloads section

And.. I think that's it. If I think of other stuff I'll put it up, of course. >3

*stumbles in and dies* I.. just... spent... HOURS... updating. x___X;; I took more screenshots... at least thirty, I know... and added them to the screenshot gallery. I also decided to try and start getting the bios section up, since that hasn't been finished since the site opened.. I made new bio images for Cale, Akima, Korso, and Stith and got all four of their pages up and updated. =) I was home sick today, so that's why I had so much time. I don't think I'll have much extra time over the weekend to finish updating, though, so expect another update.. sometime when I get lots of time off. Like I said, Memorial weekend, at the latest.

Yeah, no updates for a long time. Sorry bout that.. there doesn't seem like there's much to do, though there's really quite a lot! I've still got that bios section to put up that I haven't touched since the site opened, ages and ages ago. Anyway, this is just an update to say that I've added the new revision (or what there is so far) of "Amount to Nothing" to the fanfics section, and added a new artist, Mel, to the fanart gallery. =)

I've been busy with school and stuff, but if I ever get a good long time off (I'm thinking Memorial weekend) I'll try and get as much done as possible to the site.

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! Sorry I haven't updated much, but there isn't much to update with. Anyway, 3 new fanfics added to the Library ("fanfics" on the nav bar); One by Shelter, a very talented writer from Singapore, and two old fics by me. I also installed a comments system (thanks Snor ^_^) so you can leave a review or comment on a particular fic. I added... x_x Well, I don't have a specific count, but I added a good deal of new stills to the gallery. If you would like a still of a certain scene from Titan AE, feel free to ask! And no, I will not be taking any shots of Cale's butt unless I want to. =3 Sorry girls. Anyways, new wallpapers, more stills, and fanfics are on the way soon..

Another update today.. =) Updated the Gallery.. it's now the Still Gallery. ^_^; I found out how to take screenshots from DVDs, and I got some good shots, so check it out if you get the chance. =) I also added two new wallpapers to the download section.

1000 hits logged today! ^_^ Yay!!

It seems with the coming of summer that my sites are getting more hits lately :) That's good, I was so sure all the work I put into my sites was being ignored.

Spent all day working on the lyrics archive @_@ Dang, do you know how hard it is to find lyrics? I basically had to rewrite some of the lyrics, because the people who posted them on their site had NO idea what the lyrics actually were XD So.. enjoy ^~ I am just missing three songs.. what were they again... oh yeah, "Everything Under the Stars"..."Everybody's Going to the Moon"... and... >< I think that's it, actually... two songs ^_^ Anyways... leaving now @_@ More work tommorow, joy :D

Oy, still looking around to find all the lyrics to the soundtrack and then I will try and take on the task of finding the lyrics to songs from the trailers. It took me 3 months to find the song "Higher" from that one trailer, I want other people to be able to find them faster than I did -_- I'm gonna scout around and try to find all the trailers and such, too. Oh yeah, if anyone knows how to take screenshots of DVDs on my compy (I have a laptop with DVD ^_^) and how to crop and save them, please e-mail me @_@;;; I would worship you forever if you knew.... so *cough* Anyway, I have all day to mess around and find this stuff ^^; I'm watching trailers and stuff on my TAE DVD at the moment X) The joy...

Updated the site today ^_^ Made the links and review sections interactive, so you can add links and reviews yourself :) Fun for you, easy for me! I don't have to go hunting for things ._.' Made 4 new wallpapers, but my comp was being pissy and I didn't add them -_- Will get those up later. Finally got the bios page up for the first time since the site opened; only Cale and Akima at the moment. If anyone has those black and white drawings of Stith and Gune from Don Bluth's site, please e-mail them to me! ^_^ I'm currently searching for some things.. particularly fanfictions, fanart, lyrics, bio information, or whatever you peeps can give :) Please help the poor psycotic kitty @_@ Later peeps!
